Time for another Vibe 5!
Our lovely little segment that lets you inside our vibe for the moment.
This time around we’re throwing out 5 albums that we’ve been vibing out to lately, and for once they're mostly new!
(Shout out to 2017!) Wanna hear it? Here it goes!
5. Syd - Fin
Leave it to a woman to drop the ultimate panty dropper. The Internet’s front woman released her solo debut and it is very body roll friendly. Tracks like “Drown” and “Body” have us in our seats at work trying our hardest not to wind it down, while “Nothin to Sumthin” and “All About Me” will have you feeling yourself heavy, which nobody can hate on. Syd gave us smooth vocals and sex appeal, and made all the boys have to step their game up.
4. Kehlani - SweetSexySavage
LOOK. Kehlani is finding her voice and we are HERE for it. Her official album feels like a girl anthem, giving all of the 702 & Blaque vibes. The growth in her lyrics and her production choices really kept us around through every track. Her title was appropriate, because she takes you through each. Sweet shines on tracks like “Undercover” and “Everything is Yours”, while Sexy gets its groove on tracks like “Too Much”. She goes full blown Savage on “Do U Dirty” and “Personal”, tracks that let you know she's not Lil Lani any more, and that's a beautiful thing.
3. Malin - Sunny Malin
Give it up for the home town! What we love is that every line is purposeful. Every beat jams. These songs are thoughtful. This album not only sounds good but it feels good. It's truth, it's playful at times, but each song gives off an aura of a man extremely present within himself and his purpose. Which makes sense why this project is self titled. It's safe to say this project has been in HEAVY rotation since it dropped.
2. Nao- For all we Know
Yes, we know this album is almost a year old but the fact that we had to even make that disclaimer is a larger convo about fast paced consumerism BUT, that’s a post for another day. Nao gave us vocals, vibes, feels, all the R&B and funk you didn't realize you needed and that is why she is STILL solidified in our go to jams right now. I mean just go back and play “Bad Blood” and tell me you won't go back and start the album over. Each song makes you crave more and you kinda wanna mush her when the albums over because, greatness.
1. New Edition - Greatest Hits
Sorry, not sorry. That darn movie has had us in shambles for weeks. I'm sure those babies are making more than $1.87 just off streaming service from us alone. We’re a little hurt they didn't put out an album version of the movie (minus Poison, they can keep it.) We can't help it, it's NE for life.
